MAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER ALLEGED STABBING AT CHARLESTOWN SQUARE

A critical incident investigation has been launched after a man was injured during a confrontation with Police at Charlestown Square Shopping Centre.
Just after 1pm, police tried to arrest the 22-year-old man allegedly in connection with an earlier domestic incident.
Police say he stabbed himself with a knife several times.
In an effort to stop him, police tasered the man.
Officers gave him CPR until paramedics arrived. He was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident out the front of the Dan Murphy’s store, to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
