The stereotype says firefighters save kitten’s stuck up trees, but for Quirindi Fire and Rescue, yesterday’s rescue mission was slightly different.

Crews were met with a troubled koala in need of a check up.

Once the firies work was done, WIRES took over the creature’s care.

It was released back into the bush after a medical assessment.
