Newcastle Jets marquee Emile Heskey has taken his first step, toward playing in the first round against Adelaide.
The big striker completed a training session and 30 minutes of a private intra club trial at Hunter Stadium.
As long as he pulls up ok, Jets coaching staff say Heskey is on track to play some part in next Sunday’s game.
The former England international will now have four sessions to learn Newcastle’s playing style and prove his fitness.
