After being labelled a ‘vigilante’ group by local police earlier this week, the former ‘Take Tamworth Back’ Facebook page has re-branded itself as ‘Tamworth Crime Watch’.
A recent post by the former group fuelled concerns, as it called for volunteers to do nightly street patrols – some even commenting on what weapons to bring.
The new ‘Tamworth Crime Watch’ group has issued its first post, following a meeting with Oxley Police.
It explained a renewed vision, as well as changes to how information is presented and passed on to authorities.
