LIGHTENING STRIKES PUT RFS ON HIGH ALERT

Last night’s spectacular light show has kept firefighters across the region on high alert.
Tamworth Rural Fire Service says a number of small blazes were sparked by lightening overnight, but were contained.
Landholders are being urged to be on the lookout in the coming days, as the temperature heats up.
It comes as two major fires continue to burn north of Tamworth in rugged bushland.
The Roseneath fire has scorched more than 1100-hectares.
It was sparked by lightening on Christmas eve.
