Central Coast motorists can expect more delays on the M1 in the New Year, as one of the busiest sections undergoes a major upgrade.
The motorway will be widened on both sides between the Somersby and Kariong interchanges.
While three of the four exit ramps at Kariong will be upgraded, excluding the southbound exit into Gosford.
It’s not yet confirmed whether the speed limit will be dropped, similar to the current roadworks between Tuggerah and Doyalson.
Work will start early next year and is expected to be completed in 2020.
