Samantha Stosur’s former coach, says he’s at his wits’ end, after his Miami Tennis Club was broken into five times in the last fortnight… and the neighbouring senior’s club eight times.
“It’s hard for a club that doesn’t charge a lot, looks after the local community, it’s just here for the members and their guests. You know, we don’t make thousand of dollars a year to spend on stuff like this.”
The clubs will now trial DNA-security-systems, which sprays UV-light-detectable-mist on offenders.
“They’ve had really good results with this, they’ve had a 97 per cent drop in crime in the premises they’ve been installed in up-to-date.”
Two 14-year-old boys have been charged over the break-ins.
