A man has been shot in the face during a confrontation in a Newcastle suburb last night.
Police say three men, one armed with a firearm, entered a unit on Gordon Avenue in Hamilton shortly after 10:30pm.
There, a confrontation broke out with a 37-year-old male occupant shot in the face.
Emergency services attended the scene, and the man was taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police believe the shooting may have been targeted, and are asking for anyone who may have information about the incident to contact them.
