Celebrations overnight for Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, which has been named one of the the state’s most progressive and innovative.
The council was named the metropolitan and regional winner of the prestigious A R Bluett Memorial Award at the Local Government Association Conference in Sydney.
The award recognises the progress of high-achieving councils in New South Wales.
Bland Shire Council in the Central West took out the rural category.
