Round 11 of Newcastle District Cricket has wrapped up, with Merewether and University scoring outright wins, Rob Faraday taking five for 31 for the Students.
Cardiff-Boolaroo avoided an outright loss thanks to a century to England’s Tom Jewel, Wests hung on against Charlestown.
Last week, Wests Ben Woolmer scored a century, today he did damage with the ball, jagging the wicket of Jed Dickson for 25.
Daniel Arms gave Charlestown a shot at victory with a fighting knock of 51.
Late this afternoon, the home side was eight down needing 50 for an unlikely victory, but fell 32 runs short.
