HOW TO RESCUE AN ANIMAL IN DISTRESS

Not your average training exercise!

Team members from Fire and Rescue New Lambton have learned how to rescue a large animal in a group training exercise south of Sydney.

They were taught how to tend to fallen animals as well as those stuck in dams and swimming pools.

Rescue operations like these typically require enormous manpower and skill.

Rescuers could be dealing with an animal in distress, weighing upwards of 1000 kilograms.

The exercises are part of an ongoing effort to make sure our first responders are “prepared for anything.”
