HAZLEWOOD READY TO RIP IN FIRST ASHES TEST THIS WEEK

Bendemeer’s Josh Hazlewood says he’s ready to rip on Thursday when the first Ashes Test gets underway at the GABBA in Brisbane.

“I’ve probably played the least out of all the quicks, everyone’s different of how much they need to get going. I feel like I bowled really well at Hurstville in the first Shield game and things are coming out really well in the nets and we worked really well up here last week at training.”

The 26-year-old is expected to be a key part of Australia’s hopes of claiming back the Ashes trophy, with the bowlers crucial to the team’s strategy on home soil.

The Aussie quick has typically being a first change bowler for Australia, though he’s keen to take the new ball if the opportunity arises.
