Port Stephens residents have delivered a petition to council, calling on it to protect the Mambo Wetlands Reserve at Salamander Bay.
Consisting of 1000 signatures, it’s urging council to reject a DA for two dwellings and a long access road on the land, which is a vital koala habitat.
Meanwhile, local state MP Kate Washington has helped residents launch another petition, urging the New South Wales Government to buy back the six hectare lot of land.
