Meanwhile in Tamworth, the Knights Zeb Taia lead the Cook Islands to victory over New South Wales Country.
Newcastle winger Keith Lulia grabbed the first try for the visiting nation, before Taia dived over for the second.
Wests Sam Wooden responded for Country, he finished the night with a double.
