DRIVER CHARGED OVER FATAL CRASH

A man has been charged over a fatal crash, which claimed the life of a teenage boy near Taree.
Police allege the 20-year-old driver of the Nissan Pulsar lost control along Cedar Party Road, collecting eight fence posts, before slamming into a tree early yesterday morning.
The driver managed to escape injury, while an 18-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries.
A 17-year-old boy, who was in the back seat, died at the scene.
The driver has been charged with several offences including dangerous driving causing death and negligent driving.
He’s been refused bail and is due to face Taree Local Court tomorrow.
