Quirindi’s Sam Carter has been given a chance to press his case for a test rugby union recall, by playing against his team mates.
The second rower will suit up for the Barbarians in October, in a clash with Australia in Sydney.
Australian coach Michael Cheika says he won’t select the Spring Tour squad until after the match.
Carter is hoping to add to his 16 appearances in the gold jersey.
