Two major bushfires in the Tenterfield area have now been contained.
Combined, the Cullen Creek and Plumbargo blazes have scorched more than 1,200 hectares of steep terrain.
It comes as the official bushfire danger period begins for the Tamworth region.
The RFS is reminding residents a permit is now necessary for all burns.
And authorities are calling for public assistance, as they investigate a spate of fires across the Northern Tablelands… saying some of them have been deliberately lit.
