Labor’s Declan Clausen has accused former council Infrastructure Director Frank Cordingley of misusing his corporate credit card, as far back as 2011.
Mr Clausen claims a former council employee approached him with copies of Mr Cordingley’s statements.
“there are serious issues in these papers and serious questions that need to be addressed”
Mr Cordingley – who’s running for council with the Newcastle Independents – has told NBN News he used the card “in the course of normal council business”.
Earlier this year, Labor Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes was criticised for the use of her corporate credit card.
