Meanwhile, two-hundred school students from across the Great Lakes district gathered in Tuncurry this morning to receive high academic achievement awards.
From Pacific Palms to Forster-Tuncurry, from kindergarten to year twelve, the top achievers were congratulated.
“These are the young people who are in the top 5 percent academic achievement in their schools in each of their years. Clearly they’ve worked hard, had great support from their schools and families and it’s nice to be able to recognise that achievement,” said Fred Potter.
