Knights club members are confident they’ll be able to force an extraordinary meeting to discuss Nathan Tinkler’s decision to withdraw his takeover bid.

100 members need to sign a petition by Monday to enact the meeting – so far 57 people have signed on.

The members want the opportunity to ask questions of both the Tinkler Group and the Knights board.

The state coalition says it would undertake a major review of marine parks if elected at next month’s election.

Shadow Primary Industry Minister Duncan Gay says the Port Stephens-Great Lakes marine park needs to be reviewed, to strike a better balance between fishing and conservation.

And plans for a $20-million beachside resort at Blacksmiths were deferred by Lake Macqauarie Council last night.

The developer of the 8-storey resort has been asked to review traffic issues.
