Police are searching for a man who attempted to rob a Hunter Valley service station last night.
At about 8:30 the man, armed with a knife, entered the station on High Street at Greta.
He demanded money from two employees and became involved in an altercation with one of the staff members.
No one was injured and the intruder fled empty-handed in a Holden ute.
A short time later the vehicle was found abandoned on Water Street at Greta with a knife inside.
