NEW WESTPAC CHOPPER PASSES INTRODUCTION

The Lismore-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter service has successfully completed its introduction of the new and improved Augusta Westland helicopter.
While the aircraft is operational, ongoing wet-weather has held up the official launch of the new base.
“It’s going to be launched in a couple of months time, we’ve still got a little bit of work to do and with the wet weather that’s been around, it’s put the building back”
The service has signed a new 10-year contract with New South Wales Health, to be administer out of Ambulance Service headquarters in Newcastle.
But the service has assured locals, any money raised on the Northern Rivers will stay in the region.
“Any money raised in the local area must stay in the local area”
