NEWCASTLE BASKETBALL LOOKS TO LAKE MACQUARIE

Newcastle Basketball has called Broadmeadow home for 50 years, but the association could be on the move.
Last night, Lake Macquarie Council voted unanimously to set aside a parcel of land at Hillsborough for the next 12 months, while funding is being sought for a new stadium.
“We went in there looking for an agreement with the land and they’ve committed to look at some funding options themselves so we’ll go to State government now and maybe look at a funding option between the two.”
The association believes a new stadium would boost Newcastle’s chances of entering the WNBL.
