Police have launched an internal investigation into the death of a motorcyclist following a police chase at Heatherbrae on Boxing Day.
He was fleeing an RBT when he ran into a pole.
It was reported that he hit speeds of 180 kilometres an hour.
He died in John Hunter Hospital last night.
Assistant Commissioner Carlene York addressed the media this morning as a critical incident investigation team has been established to investigate the crash.
