The Tamworth CBD is set to become a lot safer, with 18 new CCTV cameras being installed along Bridge Street.
The $250,000 investment will monitor crimes such as vandalism and theft in West Tamworth.
“One in five businesses last year actually recorded some level of either theft or break-in or crime that wasn’t covered under insurance so that’s a massive number of businesses across our district.”
CCTV has proven very successful in helping police across Tamworth, including following the recent vandalism spree at Tamworth Regional Playground.
