RECRUITING FOR NEW MIDWIVES TOP PRIORITY: HNEH

Hunter New England Health has reassured residents it’s in the process of recruiting for its the Community Midwife Program at Tamworth Hospital.

The health service will advertise positions in both the core service and the community program by next Friday.

In a closed meeting this morning, local mothers also asked a committee be established to better engage with the public.

“It’s really important that the consumers are involved in the decision making process and the planning of our health care services and that’s part of one of their obligations.”

The program stopped accepting new mothers in April due to a lack of staff.
