NEW LIBRARY SET TO OPEN IN ARMIDALE

Following more than a decade of council debate, Armidale’s new library will open tomorrow.
The new facility is 50 per cent bigger than the original Faulkner Street site, and is the result of a three-month fit out.
It follows a decision by Administrator Dr Ian Tiley (TIL-EE) to move the library to the pre-existing building on Rusden Street, rather than construct a new facility.
The new space was due to open last Monday, but was delayed – council says the relocation of the library’s 84,000 books took longer than expected.
