ARSONISTS SUSPECTED TO BE BEHIND CROWDY FIRE

It’s believed a bushfire in Crowdy Bay National Park yesterday afternoon was deliberately lit.
Several spot-fires broke out in the area north-east of Taree at around 4:30.
Close to 40 hectares was destroyed before the Rural Fire Service and a water-bombing aircraft brought the blaze under control.
Police want to speak to anyone with information on four men spotted in a red Toyota Corona at the Indian Head camping ground shortly before the fires started.
