A woman has died, after a car struck a tree and careered down an embankment near Grafton on the mid north coast.
The crash happened on the Summerland Way, 25km north of Grafton, about 1pm today.
The woman in her 60s, who was a passenger in the Daihatsu wagon, was treated by paramedics, but died at the scene.
The male driver was taken to Lismore Base Hospital suffering chest injuries and is in a stable condition.
