TUGS REMOVED FROM NEWCASTLE HARBOUR

There’ll be two less tugs in Newcastle Harbour, after they were found to contain asbestos.
The Chinese-built Svitzer boats, Warrunda and Warrego, were immediately taken out of operation when the deadly fibre was discovered on board last month.
The company says in order to complete the remediation work required to make the vessels safe, they will be removed from Australia.
Despite the loss, Svitzer has stressed its fleet capacity remains unchanged.
