Three boats, including a Police vessel, have been attacked by vandals while moored at Coffs Harbour marina last night.
Worst damaged was a Marine Rescue boat from Wooli, in town for a weekend of training.
“Unfortunately they’ve done about $50,000 worth of damage. It’s only a new vessel, it was commissioned in April/May this year. It’s a shame, it’s a beautiful vessel bought from community funds” said Heinz Mueller from Marine Rescue.
Material around the side of the marine boat had been slashed, with similar damage done to a fisheries boat.
The petrol tank of a water police vessel was also tampered with.
