SINKING TRAWLER SAVED AT CROWDY HEAD

Emergency services have saved a 13-metre fishing trawler from a watery grave at Crowdy Head.
They were called out around 11am as the boat was sinking at its morring.
“We came out and it was couldn’t use the boat’s motor because the water was up and over the batteries,” the skipper said.
“Our water and rescue crew is on there and they’re using a portable pump to help get all the water out, we’ve also got RFS crew with their portable pump,” Peter Willard from Taree RFS said,
The vessel had a broken bilge pump and was holding water after days of heavy rain.
