Tamworth high school students have picked up some extra cooking skills over the past couple of days.
As part of a pop up kitchen at ‘The Youthie’, students were encouraged to test their skills in the kitchen.
They also learnt how to reuse unwanted food, rather than waste it.
“$9 billion dollars worth of food was wasted last year in Australia, which represents 20 per cent of household grocery budgets, so it’s quite significant.”
About 200 students from four schools took part in the program.
