WALLAMBA RIVER UPGRADE

An upgrade of a causeway on the Wallamba River near Nabiac has opened up 18 kilometres of upstream habitat to native fish.
Work on the Wellers Lane Crossing included the construction of an improved water channel.
Low and medium flow levels means native fish such as Australian Bass can now pass through.
Before its construction, the crossing restricted the animal as water was directed through one pipe.
Improving the crossing was the last of nine repairs for the Wallamba River.
