The Coffs Harbour community can rest assure it has a safe water supply for the future.
A new pipeline from Karangi Dam to the Red Hill balance tank will ensure water will continue to flow to the area, if the current 35-year-old link fails.
The pipeline is more than five kilometres long and runs beneath the North Coast Railway Line, Wongiwomble Creek and Coramba Road.
The work is part of the Coffs Harbour Water Supply Strategy.
