Dedication has paid off for Taree basketball player Kaylah Thompson, who – despite injury – helped the state’s Under 14s side to victory in the Country Championship.
The 12-year-old broke her finger in the third game, but pushed through until the grand final.
“We went into the back room of the hospital where he gave me the brace and said I’d be out for at least 10 days and I was just like no I’m not,” Kaylah said.
The New South Wales Ospreys eventually slamming Victoria Goldminers, 67 to 48.
