Local Aussie Rules clubs have voted to alter the name of the competition at an Extraordinary Meeting in Gunnedah this afternoon.
From this year it’ll be known as the Australian Football League North West, with the seven teams agreeing ‘Tamworth AFL’ didn’t represent the region.
It’s the first identity change since the competition resumed in 1997, after a three-year hiatus.
