Nine timber bridges across the Tamworth region will be upgraded this year, with council fast-tracking its Timber Bridge Management Strategy.
The structures will be replaced by concrete passages, improving the overall safety of the region’s rural roads.
Council will spend more than $2.3-million dollars on the project, construction is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
