OLD BAR PIRATES SET TO MAKE A COMEBACK

Plans for the Old Bar Pirates to bounce back in next year’s Group 3 season are well underway, with the appointment of joint head coaches – Jake Wheeler, and 2014 boss Daniel Russell.

The majority of the playing squad has re-signed, but the duo says fresh faces and better fitness will make a difference, following this year’s wooden spoon.

“Get a few new first graders in sort of build the club up a bit, change a few little things here and there and should get us back on track,” first-time coach Jake Wheeler says.

“One thing we need to work on is our fitness because we’re in the game up until about 20 minutes and then just fade away,” Daniel Russel says

The team will begin training next Tuesday.
