A 26-year-old Taree man has become the latest victim on our roads, after a single vehicle accident north-west of Wingham this morning.
Police say the driver veered off Bulga Road in Marlee at around 3am, before his Toyota Hilux crashed into a tree.
“We’re considering all factors, where speed could be a factor, the area was an 80 kilometre per hour speed limit zone, but also initial inquiries indicate that alcohol may be a factor but also fatigue considering the time of the night,” Insp. Alan Fidock of Manning-Great lakes Police said.
It’s the state’s sixth road fatality in just over a week.
