The impact the $1.7-billion Hunter Expressway will have on the region is beginning to be felt, and it’s not all positive.
Some Stanford Merthyr residents claim the roadway will effectively seal them in their suburb, by drastically cutting access in and out.

Great report except I would like to make it clear that Stanford Merthyr residents are NOT AGAINST THE EXPRESSWAY we just do not want Stanford Road Close.
Great to get some notice to our road closure problem, but as a resident I was not pleased to hear that we are against the expressway. We are not against the expressway, just that the alignments were changed and severed our local road and have been left with restricted emergency access.
Very good report .Most of the residents of Stanford Merthyr don`t want Stanford Rd
to close and are not against the Expressway. We just want a north east exit open all the time .
