Tamworth horse trainer, Cody Morgan, has been left devastated, after gelding Pelerin had to be put down in Sydney last night.
The five-year-old severed a tendon in his hind leg, in a collision during the Country Championships final at Randwick.
It resulted in a main artery being cut off, and vets couldn’t save him.
Pelerin was owned by the Morgan family and had a promising career, claiming four wins in just nine starts.
