Tamworth’s landfill gas project has received a boost from the federal government’s
Emissions Reduction Fund, but the exact figure hasn’t been disclosed.
The project will capture methane gas from the Forest Hills waste disposal site and convert it into carbon dioxide.
The recycled emissions will significantly reduce Tamworth’s carbon footprint.
It’s estimated the facility will be up and running by May next year.
