Bundarra’s brand new Emu Crossing bridge is now officially open to traffic.
Residents had lobbied the state government for 70 years to replace the old infrastructure, which has been there since 1919.
The $4 million, two- lane bridge is eight metres wide and sits above the Gwydir River.
It’s hoped it’ll encourage more traffic to pass through Bingara, Warialda, Bundarra and Inverell.
