Mardi Grass fever is in the air as the annual cannabis law reform rally kicks off today in Nimbin.
A highlight of the three-day celebrations – the hotly contested Hemp Olympics.
Events include an ironperson event – testing competitors’ horticultural strength – and the traditional hemp-rope tug-of-war.
While a police team has traditionally been on one end of the rope, this year it will be between recreational and medicinal cannabis users.
