A man charged with cultivating cannabis in a shipping container south of Grafton has been sentenced to three years jail.
Authorities combing a bushfire ravaged property in McGills Road, Kremnos in August last year made the unexpected discovery.
The Grafton District court heard police located a shipping container, buried beneath a mound of earth.
Inside, they found hydroponically-grown cannabis plants worth more than $600,000.
68-year-old Chris Jewell was given a non-parole period of 18 months.
