A 42-year-old man has been taken into custody, following an alleged stand-off with police in the Newcastle suburb of Wallsend.
The operation began at around 11 o’clock this morning, with a section of Macquarie Street blocked off to traffic.
The man was arrested just before 6pm without incident.
