SPORTING FIELD GRASS SET TO BECOME GREENER THAN EVER

Sporting fields are set to become greener than ever, following council’s decision to implement bore water facilities on grounds around the region.
The $675,000 initiative will see large water tanks rolled out onto five fields, and used much like the water supply seen at the Plain Street Playing Fields.
“We’re saving quite a considerable amount at Plain Street and obviously what we’re looking to do is expand that right through the Riverside Sporting complex. Everything from Plain Street out to Gipps Street and three other sites on the other side will all eventually be on ground water.”
The project will save around 70 mega-litres of drinking water, from being used, each year.
