The Hunter Valley town of Bulga temporarily ‘moved’ to Sydney.
Residents set up a makeshift Bulga Village behind Parliament House in opposition to Rio Tinto’s Warkworth mine expansion.
Last year Bulga residents lost a six-year-battle to stop the extension going ahead, with the mine to come within two-point-six kilometres of Bulga by 2031.
