ADDED SIGNIFICANCE FOR KNIGHTS CLASH AGAINST TITANS

The Knights’ game against the Titans on August 20 now has added significance, with the Gold Coast set to bring Jarryd Hayne to Hunter Stadium.

For a host of Newcastle’s youngest players, it will be the first time they’ve faced the former Eel.

“It’s good for the game to have Hayne back … it’ll be good to be playing him in a couple of weeks too,” said Peter Mata’Utai.

For now, the focus remains on Saturday’s clash with the Bulldogs, and providing some protection for halfback Trent Hodkinson, who’ll face his old club for the first time.

“Sam Kasiano said he really misses Hoko but wants to run at him…it’s my job to look after him especially on the left edge.”
